BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Senior center Emilee Olsen (Marietta, Ga./Lassiter HS) was named Southern Athletic Association Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Olsen averaged a double-double last week with 22.3 points and 12.7 rebounds per game to lead the team. She scored a career-high 27 points in the Panthers win over Berea College shooting .889 from the floor, and went on to score 26 at UC Santa Cruz while grabbing a season-best 18 rebounds. Olsen, who is now the program's career rebounds leader, also finished the week with eight blocks, seven assists, and two steals. She currently ranks nationally in 15 categories and leads the league in seven.
