BIRMINGHAM, Ala – The Birmingham-Southern women's volleyball team improved to 7-3 overall with its 3-0 win over Southern Athletic Association rival Rhodes College Saturday afternoon. The Panthers are now 2-0 against conference opponents.
Marjorie Ward (Winter Park, Fla./Winter Park HS) led all attackers with 11 kills, earning a .409 hitting percentage. Julia Denby (Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze HS) finished right behind her with 10 kills, respectively.
Reilly Vought (Spanish Fort, Ala./Spanish Fort HS) and Ansleigh Dailey (Daphne, Ala./Bayside Academy) split setting duties, combining for 34 assists. Vought earned a match-high 18 and Dailey finished with 16 assists, respectively. And Caroline Johnson (Lucas, Texas/Lovejoy HS) paced the back line, picking up a match-high 16 digs.
The Panthers continue their home stand tomorrow as they host Hendrix College. Match time is set for noon in Bill Battle Coliseum.
