  • NCAA Tournament: BSC Falls to Transy, 3-1

    ATLANTA  – Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball’s season ended Friday night in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.  BSC (24-7) fell to Transylvania 3-1 in the quarterfinals of the Atlanta Regional.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala.  – Senior middle blocker Rebecca Erwin (Duluth, Ga./Duluth HS) of Birmingham-Southern volleyball was recognized by the College Sports Information Directors of America as a First-Team Academic All-District selection.
  • O’Quinn, Coats Grab Top SAA Honors

    Birmingham, Ala.  – After a historic season, Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball saw six Panthers earned Southern Athletic Association all-conference honors, headlined by SAA Coach of the Year Haven O’Quinn and SAA Newcomer of the Year Alyssa Coats (Nolensville, Tenn./Nolensville HS).
  • NCAA Tournament: Panthers Headed to Atlanta

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala.  – Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball earned an at-large bid to the 2019 NCAA Division III tournament for the third consecutive year.  BSC (24-6) will be going to the Atlanta Regional hosted by No. 1 Emory University November 15-17.

    Birmingham, Ala.  – The Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball finished as the tournament runner-up Sunday after falling to No. 9 Berry College 3-0 in the Southern Athletic Association championship match.  BSC (24-6) saw Julia Denby (Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze HS) and Milea Ray (Alabaster, Ala./Pensacola State) named to the all-tournament team for their performance this weekend.
  • SAA Tournament: Panthers in Final

    Birmingham, Ala.  – The Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team earned its third straight trip to the Southern Athletic Association tournament championship Saturday with its 3-0 win over Sewanee in Bill Battle Coliseum.  BSC (24-5) will face No. 9 Berry College at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
  • SAA Tournament: BSC Advances to Semis

    Birmingham, Ala.  – Birmingham-Southern volleyball defeated Oglethorpe University 3-0 Friday night in Bill Battle Coliseum to advance to the Southern Athletic Association tournament semifinals.  Top seeded BSC (23-5) will face fourth seeded Sewanee at 6 p.m. Saturday night.
  • SAA Tournament: Volleyball Preview

    Birmingham, Ala.  – For the first time in program history, the Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team won the Southern Athletic Association regular season title and the right to host the conference tournament November 8-10.  BSC (22-5) finished 13-1 against league opponents and closed the regular season on a 10 match win streak.

    ATLANTA  – Birmingham-Southern volleyball finished play at the Emory National Invitational Saturday with big regional wins over Washington & Lee University and Randolph-Macon College.  BSC (22-5) took down W&L 3-2 before topping Randolph-Macon 3-0.
  • Panthers Take Wittenberg 3-1 at Invite

    ATLANTA  – Birmingham-Southern volleyball opened play at the Emory National Invitational with a 3-1 win over Wittenberg University Friday afternoon.  BSC improved to 20-5 with the win, marking its seventh straight 20-win season.
  • Volleyball Closes Conference Season with Win

    MEMPHIS, Tenn.  – The Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team closed out its conference season with a 3-2 win over Rhodes College Sunday afternoon.  BSC (19-5) claimed sole possession of the 2019 Southern Athletic Association regular season crown with the win.  The Panthers will host the tournament November 8-10 after posting 13-1 conference record.
  • SAA CHAMPIONS: Panthers Sweep Hendrix 3-0

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala.  – Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball clinched the Southern Athletic Association regular season title with its 3-0 sweep of Hendrix College Saturday afternoon.  BSC (18-5) is now 12-1 in conference play. 
  • Panther Profiles: Julia Denby, Volleyball

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Julia Denby (Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze HS) is a senior middle blocker for the Birmingham-Southern volleyball team. An english major and a political science minor, she plans to pursue a law degree after her final year of undergrad, but that wasn’t the plan coming out of high school. “I wanted to go to med school because I really wanted to help people,” Denby said.  “But then I got to school and hated biology so I decided to switch.” Being a lawyer would allow her to use her passion of helping other people while still utilizing her academic gifts and interests.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala.  – Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball won its fifth straight conference match Sunday when it swept Sewanee 3-0 in Bill Battle Coliseum.  BSC is now 17-5 overall, 11-1 in conference.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala.  – Birmingham-Southern volleyball improved to 8-1 against Southern Athletic Association opponents with its clean 3-0 sweep of Oglethorpe University Sunday in Bill Battle Coliseum.  BSC (14-5) is currently first in the league with two weeks left in the regular season.
  • BSC Upsets No. 6 Berry 3-1

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala.  – Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball upset No. 6 Berry College Saturday afternoon in Bill Battle Coliseum to improve to 7-1 against Southern Athletic Association opponents.  This is the second time BSC (13-5) has defeated the ranked Vikings.  They now sit tied for first in the SAA with Hendrix College.

    ATLANTA  – Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball pushed No. 1 Emory University for four sets before falling 3-1 on the road Thursday evening.  BSC moved to 12-5 overall and 2-1 against ranked opponents this season with the loss.

    SEWANEE, Tenn.  – The Birmingham-Southern volleyball team fended off the University of the South Sunday en route to a 3-1 win that ends an undefeated weekend for the Panthers.  BSC (12-4) moved to 6-1 against Southern Athletic Association teams with the win.

    DANVILLE, Ky.  – Birmingham-Southern volleyball moved to 5-1 against Southern Athletic Association opponents with its 3-0 sweep of Centre College Saturday.  BSC (11-4) sits tied for second place in the league as they head towards the second half of the season.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala.  – The Birmingham-Southern volleyball team fended off four match points in the fifth set before finally falling to Hendrix College 3-2 in a battle of the undefeated Southern Athletic Association teams.  BSC (10-4) moved to 4-1 against SAA opponents with the loss.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala.  – Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball rebounded after losing the first set to defeat Millsaps College 3-1 Tuesday night in Bill Battle Coliseum.  BSC (9-3) is now 2-0 against Southern Athletic Association opponents.

    ATLANTA, Ga.  – Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball followed their upset win over No. 5 Berry College with a 4-1 win against Oglethorpe University Saturday to improve to 2-0 in Southern Athletic Association play.  BSC (8-3) out-killed, out-blocked, and out-dug the Stormy Petrels in the win.
  • Volleyball Upsets No. 5 Berry On Road

    ROME, Ga.  – The Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team came out on fire against No. 5 Berry College Friday night on the road.  BSC (7-3) upset the Vikings to earn their first Southern Athletic Association win of the season. It was also the Panthers first win over a ranked opponent this year.
