BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern volleyball improved to 8-1 against Southern Athletic Association opponents with its clean 3-0 sweep of Oglethorpe University Sunday in Bill Battle Coliseum. BSC (14-5) is currently first in the league with two weeks left in the regular season.
17 Panthers saw time on the court in the win. Julia Denby (Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze HS) led all attackers hitting .714 with a match-high 11 kills. Reilly Vought (Spanish Fort, Ala./Spanish Fort HS) and Ansleigh Dailey (Daphne, Ala./Bayside Academy) combined for 32 assists. Julia Shoemake (Huntsville, Ala./The Randolph School) and Caroline Johnson (Lucas, Texas/Lovejoy HS) led the backline, finishing with 13 and 12 digs, respectively.
BSC hits the road next. They travel to Jackson, Miss. to take on Millsaps College Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 6 p.m.
