ATLANTA – Birmingham-Southern volleyball finished play at the Emory National Invitational Saturday with big regional wins over Washington & Lee University and Randolph-Macon College. BSC (22-5) took down W&L 3-2 before topping Randolph-Macon 3-0.
Alyssa Coats (Nolensville, Tenn./Nolensville HS) earned a team-best 27 kills on the day while grabbing 22 digs. Rebecca Erwin (Duluth, Ga./Duluth HS) hit a team-best .356 across both matches, finishing with 26 kills and 12 blocks. She would be named to the all-tournament team for her play over the weekend. Milea Ray (Alabaster, Ala./Pensacola State) put down 24 kills with Ansleigh Dailey (Daphne, Ala./Bayside Academy) running the offense to the tune of 82 assists on the day.
Caroline Johnson (Lucas, Texas/Lovejoy HS) led the backline with 34 digs. And Ray finished right behind her with 33 digs of her own, respectively.
The Panthers return home to the Hilltop as they host the 2019 Southern Athletic Association Tournament. Play runs November 8-10 in Bill Battle Coliseum.
