Carter Blount was hired as Assistant Football Coach in December2013 and begins his first season with the team. He will be incharge of the cornerback position.

Blount was previously at the University of South Alabama, wherehe worked under former BSC head coach Joey Jones. Blount was theDefensive Graduate Assistant during the 2013 season, and theSpecial Teams Graduate Assistant and Specialists Coach in 2011 and2012. He received his Masters of Education in Health Education thispast August.

Prior to working and studying at South Alabama, Blount was theAssociate Head Strength and Conditioning Coach and AssistantLinebackers Coach at Tuscaloosa County High School in Tuscaloosa,Ala., during the 2010 season. He graduated from the University ofAlabama in 2011 with a degree in Exercise and Sport Science. Blountworked with the Crimson Tide football program as a Special TeamsIntern during the 2009 national championship season, and Strengthand Conditioning Intern in 2008.
