Jacob Lyon joins the Birmingham-Southern men's basketball staffas a graduate assistant coach for the 2012-13 season.

Lyon comes to BSC from the high school ranks, most recently asan assistant coach at Tuscaloosa Academy. He has also workedpreviously as head coach at Wilcox Academy and Coosa ValleyAcademy, helping all three teams reach the AISA state playoffquarterfinals.

A Camden, Ala., native, Lyon graduated from Wilcox Academy in2005 and earned a B.S. degree in biology from Samford University in2009. He is currently pursuing a Master's in exercise physiology atUAB. Jacob is the son of Ike and Anne Lyon.
