Roy Dixon was hired as full-time Assistant Women's BasketballCoach in July 2013 after serving as a Volunteer Assistant Coach forthe previous three seasons.

Dixon brings 12 years of collegiate coaching experience to theBSC bench. From 2004-2008, he served as Head Women's BasketballCoach at the University of Montevallo. Dixon coached two Gulf SouthConference East Division Freshmen of the Year, as well as five GSCEast Division All-Conference players.

Prior to his stint as Head Coach of the women's program, heserved as Assistant Men's Basketball Coach for three seasons,coaching two GSC East Division Freshmen of the Year, three GSC EastDivision All-Conference players, and one GSC All-South Regionplayer.

From 2008 to the present, Dixon has been Head Coach for thegirl's Alabama Twister 14-U Elite Team. Also, since 1995, he hasworked at Golden Pawn and Jewelry as an Assistant Manager.

Before coaching at Montevallo, Dixon worked with the Boys andGirls Club of Greater Memphis as a Program Director, HillcrestBehavioral Health in Birmingham as a Recreational ActivityDirector, and Glenwood Mental Health in Birmingham as a LakeviewDay Program Teacher.

Dixon received his Bachelor's degree from Montevallo in 1990after a two-year playing career on a full basketball scholarship.Prior to attending Montevallo, Dixon played at Birmingham-Southernfor one year and Chattahoochee Valley Community College for twoyears, also on a full scholarship. At CVCC, he was namedAll-Conference, All-State, and Team MVP.

Dixon and his wife, Iris, have two children: Roy Dixon III (13)and Felicia G. Dixon (10).
