CONWAY, Ark. – Birmingham-Southern softball closed out its 2020 season with two Southern Athletic Association wins. The Panthers took down Hendrix College 9-1 in six innings and defeated Millsaps College 11-0 in five. BSC (11-4) finished the season undefeated in conference play.
Cassidy Dickson (Piedmont, S.C./Brashier Middle College Charter HS) led the Panthers offensively. She went 5-for-6, including two doubles, with four RBI and three runs. Annie Clayton (Eufaula, Ala./Eufaula HS) and Bailey Murphy (Trussville, Ala./University of South Alabama) earned the wins.
vs. Millsaps
Dickson went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and three runs scored. Morgan McGuire (Notasulga, Ala./Reeltown HS) hit a triple and a double, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. Clayton pitched five shutout innings, striking out two and allowing only three hits.
vs. Hendrix
Murphy and Dickson each went 2-for-3 at the plate. Both of Murphy's hits were doubles. She finished with two RBI and two runs scored. Starter Keplinger went two innings before Murphy took over in the third. She pitched four scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and striking out three to earn the win.
