BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Panthers women's swimming and diving team battled against Division I school, University of Alabama, Friday at the Birmingham Crossplex.
 
Competing against higher division athletes did not stop the Panthers from placing high in their events. 
 
Mary Miller Goldberg finished in third place in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:19.31. Ella Falco finished in third place with a time of 5:22.23 in the 500-yard freestyle. Right behind her in fourth place was Anna Jordan Luth with a time of 5:38.62. The Panthers took first through fifth place against Alabama in 100-yard butterfly. Jocelyn Helsby came in first with a time of 1:02.99. Sabrina Morgavi finished second with a time of 1:04.17. Right behind her with a time of 1:04.67 in third place was Mary Miller Goldberg. Going into the 200-yard IM, the panthers managed to take first through fifth place in this event also. Luth finished with a time of 2:21.12 to place her in first. Katherine Pepe finished in second with a time 2:23.39.  Lauren Lacson was right behind her in third place with a time of 2:24.42. 
 
In the three-meter dive, Cassie Ruiz held it down for the Panthers. Ruiz came in first place with a final score of 164.48.
