MEMPHIS, Tenn. – No. 12 Birmingham-Southern softball swept Southern Athletic Association rival Rhodes College Saturday in a doubleheader to start the series. BSC (17-2) won game one 10-3 and the finale 7-3. The Panthers are now 5-0 in conference play.
Morgan McGuire (Notasulga, Ala./Reeltown HS) hit .625 on the day with four runs and four RBI to lead the Panthers at the plate. Her team-high five hits included a double and a triple.
Alyssa Fowler (Moody, Ala./Moody HS) and
Annie Clayton (Eufaula, Ala./Eufaula HS) earned three hits each. Fowler was 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.
Lauren Keplinger (Pinson, Ala./Wallace State CC) and Clayton earned the wins.
Hailee Bryan (Lauren Hill, Fla./Paxton HS) came in relief and pitched 2.2 hitless innings.
The series concludes tomorrow with a single game at noon.
