BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – No. 13 Birmingham-Southern softball upset No. 9 Berry College Saturday in a two-game sweep of the Southern Athletic Association rival. BSC won game one 8-3 and then came from behind to win game two 11-5. The Panthers (20-2, 8-0 SAA) out hit the Vikings and were a perfect 10-for-10 on stolen bases.
Annie Clayton (Eufaula, Ala./Eufaula HS) led BSC at the plate hitting .714 on the day. She finished with five hits, including a double, with three RBI and two runs.
Saydee Keith (Corner, Ala./Corner HS),
Sam Hilyer (Prattville, Ala./Chattahoochee Valley CC), and
Kailey Walters (Trussville, Ala./Hewitt-Trussville HS) all finished with three hits each, respectively.
Hailee Bryan (Lauren Hill, Fla./Paxton HS) earned a win and a save going 7.2 scoreless innings and striking out a team-high nine batters.
Lauren Keplinger (Pinson, Ala./Wallace State CC) earned the game two win.
BSC concludes the series against the Vikings tomorrow at noon.
