Panthers fend off Sewanee for 13-11 road win

DANVILLE, Ky. – Birmingham-Southern men's lacrosse led after the first quarter, but a big second quarter helped Centre College defeat the Panthers Sunday in Southern Athletic Association play.  BSC (5-4, 1-2 SAA) fell 12-4 to the Colonels and now sits in fifth place in the league.

Austin Johnson (Johns Creek, Ga./Chattahoochee HS) and Carter Watkins (Charlotte, N.C./Adrey Kell HS) each finished with two points after scoring a goal and assisting another.  Bowen Harris (Johns Creek, Ga./Mount Pisgah HS) and Micah Finotti (Greenville, S.C./Christ Church Episcopal School) earned the Panthers other two goals.  Cameron Herd (Peachtree City, Ga./Starr's Mill HS) assisted Harris' goal to round out Panthers with points.  Luke Fajack (Chapel Hill, N.C./Bridgewater College) received the loss, but grabbed a game-high 15 saves.

BSC finally returns home to the Hilltop this Saturday after a long road stand.  They take on Hendrix College at 1 p.m. in Krulak Stadium.
