BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- No. 3 Birmingham-Southern softball split a mid-week doubleheader with the University of Montevallo Wednesday. Montevallo took game one in six innings, 12-3, while the Panthers responded in game two, 5-3. BSC (29-5) followed up its SAA Tournament Championship with 12 hits in the twin bill.
Madison Plunkett led the Panthers at the plate hitting .750 on the day. She finished 3-for-4 with two sacrifice hits, four RBI and a run scored. Plunkett belted a two-run homerun in the first game after a 16-pitch at-bat and a two-run single in the second contest.

Leah Wood all finished with two hits each and a combined four RBI and two runs scored.
Hailee Bryan earned the game two win, allowing one run on four hits with three strikeouts in four innings of relief.
BSC is back in action Saturday with a doubleheader at Emory University.
