BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern women's tennis started their non-conference schedule off with a win at Ann Dielen Tennis Complex. The Panthers defeated Central Alabama Community College 5-4, taking most of their wins in singles play.
The Trojans took No. 1 doubles 9-7 and No. 3 doubles 8-7. The duo of Jenna Prater and Sarah Rushing earned BSC their only doubles win at the No. 2 position, beating the Trojans 8-5. With the Trojans leading 2-1 at the end of doubles play, the Panthers looked to make a comeback with their singles.
This duo went on to win their singles matches in straight sets with Prater at the No. 4 position and Rushing at the No. 5. Birmingham-Southern took 4 out of the 6 singles wins with Maddi Stewart winning at No. 2 singles in straight sets. Isabella Lambert finished it off for the Panthers, also winning in the No. 6 singles in straight sets.
