Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

PANTHERS KNOCKED OUT OF CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The Birmingham-Southern women's soccer team ended their season with a though loss against Berry in the opening round of the SAA tournament.

The Panthers knew this would be an uphill battle having fallen to the Vikings during regular season play. An early shot from Abby Rose Branham gave hope that the Panthers could strike an unsuspecting opponent.

Unfortunately, the Vikings quickly took back control, pressing hard for a goal, and finally, being rewarded to given them the lead. The remainder of the half saw tides shifting back-and-forth with neither team gaining an inch.

While the Panthers looked to settle back into their offense for the second half, the Vikings took on the attack breaking through the defense, sending up shots, and eventually, scoring to jump ahead by two.

With the greater deficit, the Panthers felt an even greater sense of urgency with their season on the line. On the defensive end, Mary Claire Henry was able to keep the Vikings in check, while the Panthers found a couple good looks at the goal on the other end.

There simply was not enough time left in the match for the Panthers to catch up, thus ending their season on the road.
