CONWAY, Ark. – A strong second half performance pushes the Birmingham-Southern men's soccer team past Hendrix in postponed match.
Having lost to the Warriors, the Panthers looked to get their revenge and keep their season going. An up-tempo offense gave the Panthers the advantage from kickoff opening up several opportunities to score early. Defensively, the Warriors were held to zero shots on goal for the first half to help keep the Panthers within striking distance.
The second half had a tense start with a string of fouls and cautions coming from both teams. Eventually, this would come back to bite the Warriors who set up
Trey Hines for a free kick score to put the Panthers in the lead.
That goal would serve to energize the Panthers even further as they kept sending up shots, trying to extend their lead. Their efforts would finally be rewarded when
Coleman Jennings delivered an assist to
Trey Hines, giving him his third brace for the season.
With the damage already done, the Warriors put in a last-ditch effort to even the odds, but the Panthers defense would simply not allow it. They held onto their comfortable lead for the remainder of the match.
