Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

BSC TAKES DOWN THE TIGERS

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern men's soccer team continued its revenge tour with a win over Sewanee in the SAA Conference Tournament.

With the Panthers kicking off, it seemed as though they had complete control of this match from the start. An aggressive game plan kept the ball moving on the attacking half and allowing for some early looks.

The Panthers really opened things up after a save on the defensive end which led to score on the other end. The ball quickly moved up the field giving Coleman Jennings the opportunity to set up Alessandro Jr. for the goal.

That goal would give the Tigers a sense of urgency to catch up, but Giacomo Magrini prevented the tie, totaling four saves for the half. Eventually, the Panthers were set up for a corner kick from which Pirmin Blattmann delivered a perfect ball to Jennings, stretching the lead to two. The Tigers would sneak in their lone goal to round out the first half.

The second half turned out to be a defensive battle in which the Panthers aimed to protect their lead, while the Tigers remained on the attack. Despite this, no scoring would take place with the Panthers ultimately securing the victory.
