BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern women's swim and dive team hosted Division II opponent University of West Florida in their first home meet of the year. The Panthers competed very strong, but ultimately falling 233-96.
The Panthers competed against a strong team and placed well in a few events. In event 15 Mary Miller Goldberg placed in fourth in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:15.17. She finished in front of two UWF swimmers.
BSC got another top five finish out of Whitney Dollins in the 50-yard freestyle. Dollins finished fifth with a score of 26.06. She continued to swim great finishing in second place in the 100-yard freestyle. Finishing behind her in third and fourth were teammates Chloe Carignan and Regan Skedgell.
Event 23 saw Nicole Lee finish in second lace in the 200-yard backstroke. Lee finished with a time of 2:17.29. Amelia Cooper, Ansley Pecoul, and Hannah McNamara rounded out the top five for the event.
In one of the final events BSC placed second in the women 400-yard freestyle relay. The team of Whitney Dollins, Amelia Cooper, Regan Skedgell, and Alex Sprague finished with a time of 3:47.02, second for the event.
BSC showed well in a lot of events and look to build off a strong start.
