JACKSON, Miss. – The Birmingham-Southern women's basketball team faced Huntingdon College for their first game of the Millsaps Thanksgiving Classic. A huge performance from Faith Anderson helped the Panthers in their 112-87 win.
BSC got out to a hot start in the first quarter staying ahead nearly the entire time and finishing with a three-point lead. They kept the momentum going in the second with Anderson and
Brooke Westhoelter knocking down several big shots to finish the half strong, up by 10.
While the Hawks hoped the halftime break might cool off the Panthers offense, that would not be the case. BSC came out with even more energy, scored 36 points, and raked in a number of steals which gave them the 86-61 advantage. The fourth quarter was more of the same as the Panthers dominated the ball from end to end.
Anderson lead both teams in scoring for the day with 25 to go along with two assists and three rebounds. Lauren Ellard and McKenna Buckner stepped up defensively and snagged four steals each.
