PANTHERS ROLL PAST MAJORS IN SAA OPENER

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - In their opening game of Southern Athletic Association play the Panthers thumped Millsaps College 93-59. The Panthers were led by Josh Childers who scored a career-high 19 points and also recorded a career-high six blocks. The Panthers got out to an early lead and never looked back. 

BSC jumped out to an 18-3 run with five players scoring baskets during that stretch. The Panthers maintained a double digit lead for the majority of the opening half with the Majors pulling within single digits just once after the 18-3 run. The Panthers shot a season high 55.89-percent from the floor while limiting Millsaps to just 33.33-percent. BSC scored 22 of their 44 points off of turnovers and led 44-27 at the half. 

Coming out of halftime the Panthers would extend their lead to as much as 37 points late in the second half. The Panthers were able to play 16 players with 15 of the 16 players scoring at least one point and three players scoring in double figures. BSC would not allow the Majors to get back in the game and led for 39:44 of the game.
