Birmingham, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's basketball team took on Sewanee for the last home game of the year. The Panthers bounced back with a victory of 95-77 after falling to Centre on Friday. The Panthers led the whole game scoring 20 plus points in every quarter. It was senior night for
Josie Wannemuehler and
Cassady Quintana. Both seniors left it all on the court having a great performance for the last time in Bill Battle Coliseum.
BSC and Sewanee both started off hot in the first quarter scoring 20 plus points each. Panthers outscored the Tigers 24-23 in. BSC kept that momentum going into the second quarter scoring another 24 points and leading the game 48-38. BSC continued to lead the game in the third quarter holding Sewanee to only 10 points and putting up 25. The Tigers tried to make a comeback in the fourth quarter dropping 29 points, but the Panthers held them off and came out with a victory of 95-77.
Cassady Quintana recorded 14 points, five rebounds, and three assist.
Josie Wannemuehler recorded 12 points and one rebound.
McKenna Buckner had a dominate performance for the Panthers recording 19 points, three rebounds, three steals, one block, and assist.
