MOBILE, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women's tennis team defeated Spring Hill in their matchup 5-2. Since the match was played at Spring Hill, it was played under Division II rules.
The Panthers took all three of the doubles matches. The No. 1 duo of Maddie Stewart and
Phoebe Shapard, and No. 2
Sarah Rushing and
Jenna Prater took their victories 6-3. No. 3
Isabella Lambert and
Anna Cate Weeks finished last with a close 6-4 win. Birmingham-Southern looked to hold their lead heading into singles play.
The No. 3 matchup was the first to finish with
Jenna Prater falling 6-4 in both sets. The Panthers won the No. 2, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 matchups to clinch their victory.
Phoebe Shapard,
Sarah Rushing and
Isabella Lambert all took their matchups to three sets to pull out the victory.
