BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men's tennis team looked to make a comeback after a tough previous weekend. The Panthers swept doubles play to take a big win 7-2 over the Millsaps Majors.
The Panthers took all three doubles matches with ease. No. 1 doubles
Wilbur Dotson and
Tanner Debardelaben defend their victory streak with a close 8-7 win.
Hallet Green and
Elijah Ingleson competing in the No. 2 doubles, took down their opponents 8-3 while No. 3 duo
Tom Smith and
Bo Williams won with an 8-2 victory.
After starting off with a 3-0 lead in doubles play, the Panthers were ready to take over the singles play and bring home a victory. No. 1
Hallet Green fought in three sets to get his victory, falling in the first set 6-2, taking the next 6-2 and fighting off his opponent in the tiebreaker to win it 10-8.
Wilbur Dotson, No. 2, also fought in a close three set match. Dotson took the first 6-4, fell in the next and then took the victory 10-7 in the third.
Elijah Ingleson, No. 4, and
Reed Martinson, No. 6, won their matches in straight sets. Ingleson took his opponent 6-0, 6-4 while Martinson won with 6-0 and 6-1 victories for the Panthers.
