Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

SUCCESS ON SENIOR DAY

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern women's lacrosse team sent their seniors off smiling with a win over conference opponent Centre in their final home game of the year. Birmingham-Southern won a close game 17-14.

The Colonels scored the first goal of the game but BSC would win the quarter. After Centre scored the first goal BSC out scored the Colonels 5-3 to take a one goal lead after one quarter of play. The second quarter was very defensive with only three total goals being scored. Centre tied the game up early in the period, but the Panthers took the lead back after Margot Peters netted her second goal of the game. 

Centre got a goal just before time expired and the team went to the locker room tied 6-6.

Coming out of halftime the Panthers had all the momentum scoring the first three goals of the quarter. Centre responded with three goals of their own tying the game back up. The remainder of the quarter the teams traded goals before BSC took back the lead with a goal by senior Liz Lee

The fourth quarter was intense, with the Panthers holding a one goal lead they added to it in the fourth quarter. BSC added two goals early in the fourth quarter to take a three goal lead, but Centre came storming back and scored three unanswered goals to tie the game with 5:32 left in the game. With the momentum on Centre's side BSC took it right back. The Panthers would score three unanswered goals to defeat the Colonels 17-14.
