Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

PANTHERS FINISH IN A DEADLOCK WITH LIONS

DEMOREST, Ga. – A lively first half ends in a draw for the Birmingham-Southern men's soccer team facing Piedmont.

The first half started off hot with both teams trading shots for the first 15 minutes, but neither team could connect. The Panthers would seize control of the ball after this tallying double digit shots, but being met with strong resistance.

Finally, Christian Hernandez broke through with the help of an assist from Will Pucek giving BSC a slight edge. They would try to extend their advantage, but the defense and time would not allow it to happen.

An even tighter game seemed to be in store to start the second half with the Lions scoring quickly to even things up. This would make the match more difficult, yet the first half performance gave hope for the Panthers to pull ahead again.

Unfortunately, this was not the case. With both defenses hunkering down for the homestretch, neither team could find an angle to the goal. The tie would hold despite a few last-minute attempts which gave hope for one team to pull ahead.
