MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A late push from the Panthers fell short on Friday as the Birmingham-Southern women's basketball team fell 95-90 to Rhodes in Mallory Gymnasium.
Brooke Westhoelter led all scorers with a season-high 24 points while
Montana Harris tallied her fifth consecutive game in double-figures with 16 points. Harris also led the team in assists with three, while
Alex Lewis pulled down a team-leading seven boards.
Rhodes was led by Kearstyn Seay, who scored 24 points in the game in addition to recording seven boards and five assists. Taya Lee recorded 21 points, three blocks and a steal, while both Alexys Mathangani and Giana Vlahakos tallied 11 points for the Lynx.
For most of the second half the Panthers trailed by double-digits but it was a late surge that saw them bring the game within one possession with under two minutes to play. A couple forced turnovers helped the Panthers get into the game but down the stretch could not get the stop or basket they were looking for.
