CLINTON, Miss. - The Birmingham-Southern men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Watson Collegiate XC Classic on Friday. All four women's runners recorded personal best times in the 6K run while the men placed 11th of 25 total teams.
In the women's 6000 meter race, freshman
Catherine Chua led the Panthers with a personal best time of 26:40.20.
Gabe Earhart was right behind her with a 26:43.10 which was also a personal best.
Victoria Langevin and
Ada Weems made their collegiate debuts for the Panthers after becoming dual-sport athletes this past week. The women's lacrosse players held their own in their first race and finished with times of 31:58.10 and 32:18.80 respectively.
Noah Arrington led the 'Southern men's team with a personal best 26:56.30. This time earned him a 37th place finish.
Hunter Siddle finished in second on the BSC leader board with a PR of 28:12.00.
Jack Rodgers and
Pyunn Ntwari also PR'ed with times of 28:47.90 and 29:05.10 respectively. Freshman
Wyatt Jones finished with a time of 29:14.50, and freshman Sam Holloway PR'ed with a time of 32:24.90 to cap off the day for the Panthers.

The Panthers will travel to Lexington, Ky. for the Southern Athletic Association Cross Country Championships on Oct. 28 where they will look to make their mark on the conference.
