VOLLEYBALL ENDS SAA PLAY WITH A BIG WIN

BIRMINGHAM, AL. - The Birmingham-Southern volleyball team competed in two SAA matchups on the weekend.

Game 1 vs. Berry
Berry came in as the #13 team in the country and proved to be a very tough opponent. The Vikings started off with a 11-2 run, dominating the first set with nine kills and only one error. Four kills in the first set by Berry player Jazzy Innis led the Vikings to a 25-13 1st set win.

Set two and three were much more competitive as BSC set and passed the ball much better. It was a team effort in the 2nd set with Kylie Wilhelmi, Claire Hayes, Emily Buhl, and Madison Williams all receiving multiple kills. The Panthers struggled with 9 attacking errors in all three sets, which prevented them from winning a set. Kylie Wilhelmi led the team with six kills, Ainsley Shults added 23 assist. Berry player Olivia Mallow added five blocks herself as the Vikings had nine total blocks.

The winning point came on a kill by Bella Boston, assisted by Lindsey MacDiarmid. Berry wins the match 3-0.
