WOMEN'S BASKETBALL EARNS DOMINANT WIN OVER BELHAVEN

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern women's basketball team got another win Tuesday afternoon.

The Panthers faced the 1-3 Blazers on Belhaven on a early afternoon game. Birmingham-Southern started the game on fire on a 14-2 run shooting over 50% through the 1st quarter. The Panthers held a 10 point lead for most of the 1st quarter and got all the way up to 20 points before halftime. It was a team performance as six Panthers found the bottom of the net in the 2nd Quarter. Southern held Belhaven to a 25% field percentage in the 1st half holding them to 23 points. BSC led 41-23 at the half.

In the second half the Panthers started 3 for 3 from the field and took a 21 point lead. Belhaven then went on a 13-2 run on the back of two 3-point shots on back to back possessions. The scoring continued throughout the half with five points in a row from Montana Harris. A couple of 3-pointers in a row from Shantashia John put Belhaven down just eigh, which was the smallest lead since the first half. Birmingham-Southern turned the ball over three possessions in a row to put the score at 65-61. Belhaven fought until the end, but BSC was too much. Montana Harris led all scorers with 20, while grabbing 9 rebounds. Maya Cable and Sheraton Foster both added double digit points with 17 and 14.
