BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern women's basketball team lost two close games over Thanksgiving break.
Game 1
On Saturday, the women's basketball team traveled to Georgia to face a 4-0 Piedmont team. The first quarter was back and forth with three lead changes and a 17-14 lead for Piedmont. During the first quarter, only one 3-pointer was made by either team. Audra Putman tied the game on a 3-point shot early in the second quarter. Piedmont opened a seven point lead before a 4-0 BSC run to end the half at 31-29 Piedmont.
In the second half the Lions got out to an 11 point lead behind six points from Andelin Hillin. That lead got all the way up to 13 points with a 3-pointer by Ashley Scott, at the end of the 3rd quarter. A 16 point lead would be the highest lead of the game at the 6:32 mark of the forth quarter. 24 bench points secured the win for Piedmont with 11 players with at least three points. Montana Harris led all scorers with 20 points in just 33 minutes and eight rebounds. Ajailah Ogiemwonyi put up 10 points and nine rebounds off the bench. Birmingham-Southern loses the game 60-73 against an undefeated Lions team.

Game 2
The Panthers women's basketball team lose a low scoring game at Huntingdon 63-64. Before entering the game, BSC was 6-6 all-time vs Huntingdon. This game had 12 lead changes and 11 ties, which makes it clear that the game was going to come down to the last few seconds. The Hawks jumped out to a 8-4 lead and shot 44% from field goal range throughout the 1st quarter. BSC held the Hawks to just 11 third quarter points, which opened up a five point halftime lead for Birmingham-Southern.
An 9-1 run by the Hawks put Huntingdon up 49-40 with 1:35 left in the third quarter. An 8-1 run by BSC put the Panthers ahead by one early in the forth quarter. With 3:02 left Southern' took a nine point lead after two free-throws by Imani Thompson. another Hawks run would allow them to take the final lead at 64-63. 31 turnovers for Birmingham-Southern was the most of the season. Offensively Julisa Keys led with 20 points and seven rebounds, with BSC only making two 3-pointers throughout the game. Birmingham-Southern loses three out of their last four games.
