BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern women's basketball team dropped their regular season finale 84-68 on Wednesday night against Millsaps. The Panthers will enter the Southern Athletic Association Tournament after falling in five of their past six games.
The Majors lead the game almost wire-to-wire. Birmingham-Southern tied the game twice at 3-3 and 5-5. After BSC tied the game at 5-5 Millsaps went on a 12-0 run that would propel them to victory. The Panthers cut into the lead cutting the deficit to seven a couple times but, were unable to get any closer. The 68 points BSC tied a season low.
Only one Panther scored in double-figures.
Lilly Hart scored 12 points on 5-of-13 shooting. Hart added two rebounds to her totals. Three Panthers scored eight points in the loss.
Brooke Westhoelter,
McKenna Buckner, and
Sheraton Foster all scored eight for BSC. Westhoelter grabbed two boards while Buckner finished with five assists.
The Majors were led by Haley Franklin who led all scorers with 27 points in her double-double effort. Franklin grabbed 10 rebounds and recorded three blocks on the devensive end. DeZarae Stewart went 4-of-7 from the floor in her 11-point, two-rebound performance in the win.
