BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern women's lacrosse team got its first win of the season against Pfeiffer University on Saturday. The Panthers came out firing on all cylinders with a dominant first quarter display. The Falcons would not be able to recover as the Panthers went on to win the non-conference contest 19-13.
How it happened
- BSC started fast by opening the scoring before Pfeiffer replied with a goal less than a minute later.
- The Panthers then scored six unanswered goals to take a 7-1 lead at the end of the first quarter.
- BSC would continue controlling the game as they outscored Pfeiffer 5-3 in the second period to take a 12-4 halftime lead.
- After the break, BSC picked up right where they left off with Margot Peters scoring one of her nine goals on the day.
- The Falcons fought back by going on a 6-0 run to end the third quarter cutting BSC's lead to three.
- The Panthers then found their groove again by winning the final period 6-3.
- BSC's Brooklyn Hilliard scored her seventh goal of the game late in the fourth to solidify the win for the Panthers 19-13 over Pfeiffer.
