PANTHERS WIN FINAL REGULAR SEASON GAME ON THE ROAD

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Birmingham-Southern softball came back to beat Huntingdon in their final regular season matchup of the season on Friday. A huge fifth inning led the Panthers to their sixth straight win just before the SAA Tournament.

After a scoreless first two innings, the Hawks opened the scoring on an RBI double to take a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third. In the fourth inning, neither team was able to add any runs, and the score remained 2-0. In the top of the fifth inning, BSC was finally able to break the deadlock. Morgan McGuire put the ball in play which led to an error scoring Olivia Trout to cut the deficit in half. Jada Askew then singled to right field to score two runners and give the Panthers the lead. BSC was not able to add to their lead in the next two innings, but Margaret Axelson was excellent in relief only allowing one hit to Huntingdon. The Panthers were able to hold off the Hawks and earn a 3-2 win on the afternoon to continue the momentum into the conference tournament.
