BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern women's track and field team kicked-off 2024 at the Emory CrossPlex Showdown with athletes competing on the track as well as in the field events.

Birmingham-Southern top individual finishes

• Ada Weems finished 11th in the Women's 400m with a personal-best 1:10.20
• Sydney Smith finished 14th in the Women's 200m with a time of 27.72.
• Mallory Jackson and Kya Gardner ran in the Women's 200 with times of 28.61 and 29.57 respectively. 
• Sydney Smith and Mallory Jackson competed in the Women's 60m with times of 8.45 and 8.55 respectively. Kya Gardner also sprinted in the same event with an 8.88 run.
• In the field, Shyla Williams threw 6.75m in the Women's Shot Put.
