BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern men's basketball team had another tough game on their schedule as Oglethorpe came to town. At stake, was the current number two seed in conference play.

With all to play for, Birmingham-Southern big man Brody Davis started the scoring off with a 3-pointer. The 6'10 junior made all four of his 3-point attempts on the day. Jordan James had a massive night that started with a jumper to put the score at 5-3. James had a double-double with 26 points and 14 boards on the night. The game was knotted at seven until a 3-point shot by James. Eric Robinson came off the bench and added a 3-point shot at the 4:48 mark to give BSC their biggest lead of the half thus far. Things went from bad to worse for the Stormy Petrels as Birmingham-Southern hit seven first half 3-pointers with the Panthers leading by 17 and only 1:40 left on the clock. The half ended with BSC leading 42-29.

The lopsided bench points statistic was led by the freshman Kalib Thomas who had 13 points. BSC totaled 23 bench points versus only nine from the Oglethorpe bench. Kaleb Green and the Panthers continued their momentum with a layup and a 59-36 lead just before the first media timeout. After an almost four minute drought and a 12-0 run, the Petrels were only down 11 at the 11:40 mark of the second half. Scoring went back a forth for a few minutes with a basket by Jay Gillispie who finished with another double-double. He now has 17 double-double's on the season with his 18 point 14 rebound performance. Martise Jackson added a couple of late free throws to put the game on ice.
