BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham-Southern women's tennis team won two out of three doubles matches to start the day but was defeated by Rhodes overall on Sunday.
No. 3 duo
Meg Griffin and
Anna Marie Bentley continued their excellent play with their third consecutive doubles win. In a close match, the pair came out on top 8-6. No. 1 duo
Phoebe Shapard and
Blakely Valdez also resumed their great weekend with a comfortable 8-3 win to clinch two out of three doubles wins for the team.
In singles, Rhodes took advantage with all six wins. No. 3
Anna Beth Giles competed in a tiebreaker in her second set but ultimately came up short, 7-6.
