2016-17: Helped team win Southern Athletic Association Championship … swam career-best times of 27.10 in the 50-yard fly at the Sewanee Invitational (Oct. 28) and 54.26 in the 100-yard fly at the SAA Championships.

2015-16: Helped team win Southern Athletic Association Championship … earned SAA winter Academic Honor Roll honors … competed in 3 B events at the SAA Championships as a freshman … placed 10^th in the 100-yard butterfly (54.58), ninth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.64), and 12^th in the 200-yard butterfly (2:02.94).

Pre-BSC:  Two-year letterman for coach Scott Robinson at Arlington High School... mainly competed in the butterfly and breaststroke... also lettered in water polo... 2015 All-District Water Polo... 2013 and 2014 Best of the Preps (Swimming)... member of Beta Club, Mu Alpha Theta, and National Society of High School Scholars.

Personal:  Son of Don and Eling Gaines... born on June 19, 1997... plans to major in biology.
