JACKSON, Miss.—Courtesy of a late-game goal from senior Garner Shivers, the Birmingham-Southern men's soccer team defeated Millsaps College, 1-0, Friday evening in Jackson, Miss.

The Panthers advance to 8-4 on the season and 4-1 in conference play.

Shivers scored the lone goal of the game in the 76th minute, assisted by fellow seniors Nicolas Reitmeier and Sean Head.

Millsaps out-shot BSC 11-8, but the Panthers recorded five shots on-goal to the Majors' four.

Sophomore goalkeeper Sveinbo Grimsson played the entire game for BSC and recorded four saves.

BSC's next game is another road contest this Sunday as the Panthers face Rhodes College at 2 p.m. in Memphis, Tenn.
