ALESSANDRO JUNIOR HEADLINES MSOC ALL-SAA HONORS

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Southern Athletic Association announced the 2023 men's soccer all-conference selections on Wednesday afternoon. Alessandro Jr. earned Second Team honors while six total Panthers made All-SAA.

Alessandro Jr. was selected to the All-SAA Second Team for the first time in his career. The senior started all 17 games and led the team in points with 12. He was the team's top scorer with five goals including the game-winner against Huntingdon. Alessandro finished tied for third in the SAA in goals and ninth in points. He also recorded two assists and was fifth on the team in minutes played.

Pirmin Blattman earned Honorable Mention honors for the second-straight season in his senior campaign. Blattman has earned All-SAA honors all four years of his career. The senior started all 17 games for 'Southern and was second on the team in minutes played. He recorded three assists on the season including the game-winning assist against Millsaps in the team's final regular season match of 2023. Pirmin also became the conference's all-time assist leader for his assist against Centenary.

Cesar Hurtado received Honorable mention honors for the first time in his career. The versatile senior appeared in many different positions for BSC including left back, winger, and forward. Cesar started all 16 games he appeared in and recorded a goal and two assists on the year. He also placed five of his 11 total shots on frame. 

The senior Trey Kirksey was an Honorable Mention selection for the Panthers in his senior season. Kirksey was an All-SAA selection in all four years of his career. Primarily an outside back, Kirksey also made a couple of appearances up top for his side. Trey started all 17 games for the Panthers and was sixth on the team in minutes played. Trey recorded two goals and two assists on the year. Both of his goals were game-tying goals in conference play against Hendrix and Centre. 

Caleb Pruett was an Honorable Mention selection in his final season. The center back started in the 16 games he appeared in this season. Pruett was a rock at the back and led the team in minutes with 1415 total played. He also recorded a goal against Centenary on a screamer of a free kick. Despite being a defender, Caleb put six shots on target this season.

Vittorio Vopicelli earned All-SAA honors for the first time in his career with his Honorable Mention selection. The sophomore attacking midfielder started all 15 games he appeared in and was second on the team in points with nine. He recorded three goals and three assists on the season including the game's lone goal against LaGrange in the season opener. He also had an incredible assist against Berry to take the lead.
