Women's Basketball defeats Agnes Scott on the road, 48-44

ATLANTA, Ga.—The Birmingham-Southern women's basketball team won its first road game of the season on Saturday, defeating Agnes Scott College 48-44 in Atlanta, Ga.

The Panthers move to 2-1, while the Scotties drop to 1-3.

Neither team led by more than six in the first half and there were several lead changes, culminating in a 22-22 tie at the half. The second half was almost identical, with the teams trading baskets and neither leading by more than six at any point. The Panthers were able to stay one step ahead of the Scotties down the stretch, though, pulling up 46-40 with 1:16 remaining and then holding ASC off for the remainder to win by four.

Junior Halle Knowles led BSC with 11 points, while three different Panthers led with six rebounds. Sophomore Jothani Dixon led with four assists, and senior Diamond Elston had two blocks.

The Panthers stay on the road for their next two games, facing Emory in Atlanta this Tuesday, Nov. 25, and then traveling to take on Southern Athletic Association rival Millsaps next Saturday, Nov. 30.
