Women's Basketball falls to Millsaps on the road, 57-42

JACKSON, Miss.—The Birmingham-Southern women's basketball team dropped a Southern Athletic Association contest on the road Sunday, falling to Millsaps 57-42 in Jackson, Miss.

The Panthers fall to 3-2 and 0-1 in the SAA, while the Majors move to 3-2 and 1-0 in the SAA.

After an early 7-4 lead by BSC, Millsaps used a 27-0 run to pull ahead 31-7, and led 35-10 at the half. The Majors maintained a double-digit lead for the entire second half as well, going up by as much as 27 before eventually winning by 15.

Senior Kayla Ford led the Panthers with 12 points and six rebounds. BSC shot 30 percent (15-50) from the field and 37.5 percent (6-16) from three-point range while hitting 6-13 (46.2 percent) from the free throw line. Millsaps out-rebounded BSC 38-23 but committed one more turnover than the Panthers with 16.

BSC returns home to host Agnes Scott College this Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 6 p.m. in Bill Battle Coliseum.
