Box Score BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men's soccer team battled to a 0-0 tie against Southern Athletic Association leader Oglethorpe University Friday night on Goldfarb Field. The Panthers (8-4-1, 2-2-1) fended off 12 second half shots to force the extra minutes.
Both teams put up three shots in the overtimes, but could not come away with a winner.
Oglethorpe (4-4-3, 4-0-1 SAA) led BSC 19-12 in total shots.
Galen Curry (Birmingham, Ala./Spain Park HS) earned the start in goal. He finished with a match and career-high 10 saves playing the full 110 minutes.
The Panthers return to action this Sunday, Oct. 16 in a doubleheader with the women against Berry College. The men kickoff at noon with the women following at 2:30 p.m. Fans can hear country music star Lee Greenwood sing the National Anthem before the women's game.
