Panthers Open Indoor Season at Home in Icebreaker

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men's and women's indoor track and field teams opened the 2016-17 season at home in the BSC Panther Icebreaker Friday.  The Birmingham CrossPlex played host to over 18 teams from all three NCAA Divisions including Georgia Tech, UAB, Mississippi College, and Tulane.

 

David Campbell (Semmes, Ala./Murphy HS), who set a new personal record in the pole vault, finished fourth overall at 4.15m. And Michael Snow (Trussville, Ala./Hewitt-Trussville HS) had the second-best shot put mark of all competitors at 14.14m.

 

On the women's side, Earen Robinson (Mobile, Ala./McGill-Toolen Catholic HS) finished third against non-Division I opponents in the weight throw.

 

This was the Panthers only meet before the New Year.  They return to action back at the CrossPlex for the UAB Blazer Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 14.
