Box Score BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Birmingham-Southern men's lacrosse team opened its home slate Sunday afternoon, falling to Colorado College, 14-6, on Battle Field at Krulak Stadium.
The Panthers fell to 1-1, while the Tigers moved to 2-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Colorado College was hard to stop in the first quarter, scoring its first goal less than 30 seconds in and then going up 4-0 by the end of the period.
- The BSC offense stepped up in the second quarter, out-scoring the Tigers 4-1 to cut it to 5-4 by halftime.
- The teams traded goals to open the third quarter, but Colorado College then scored three straight, pulling up 9-5 by the 3:38 mark.
- The Panthers answered with one more goal in the third with 40 seconds left, but that would be BSC's final score of the game.
- The Tigers found the net five times in the fourth to increase the margin to 14-6 for the victory.
NOTABLE
- Junior McHale Schneider and freshman Davis Thompson led BSC with two goals apiece.
- Schneider and senior Evan Lalande also had two assists each.
- Sophomore Christian Englehart led the defense with six ground balls, and senior Derek Wass had two caused turnovers.
- Junior Hank Harris started in goal for BSC and played nearly the entire game, making 12 saves; freshman Alex Bates saw action near the end of the game and recorded one save.
