Box Score BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—After a 5-5 tie at the half, the Birmingham-Southern men's lacrosse team out-scored Transylvania 10-4 in the second half to win 15-9, Wednesday evening on Battle Field at Krulak Stadium.
The Panthers won their sixth straight game tonight and move to 7-1 on the season; the Pioneers fell to 1-4.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Freshman Tanner Schneider scored the first two goals of the game to put BSC up 2-0, but Transy responded with three straight to end the first quarter with a 3-2 lead.
- Another Schneider goal one minute into the second quarter tied things up, but the Pioneers took back the lead two minutes later, 4-3.
- BSC then scored twice, taking its first lead of the game, 5-4, before Transy scored again before the end of the quarter to tie it up at 5-5.
- The Panthers opened the third quarter with four straight goals to pull up 9-5.
- Transy scored twice to cut it to 9-7 heading to the fourth, and the teams traded goals to open the final period.
- BSC ended the game on a 5-1 run, including two goals from freshman Davis Thompson.
NOTABLE
- Schneider led with four goals and also added one assist.
- Senior Evan Lalande led with four assists, and also scored one goal.
- Thompson and junior Thomas Grove posted three goals apiece.
- Freshman Peyton Heard led with five ground balls, and sophomore Keenan Hudsmith won a game-high 11 face-offs.
- Junior goalie Hank Harris recorded six saves.
