Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn.—The Birmingham-Southern men's lacrosse team saw its season come to an end Friday afternoon, losing to top-seeded Sewanee 11-4 at Hardee-McGee Field in Sewanee, Tenn.
The Panthers fell to 12-5 to end the season, while the Tigers moved to 11-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams scored once in the first nine minutes of the game, after which Sewanee scored four straight to end the first quarter with a 5-1 lead.
- The teams traded goals in the second, with the Tigers leading 6-2 at the half.
- BSC opened the third with a goal from junior McHale Schneider to cut it to 6-3, but Sewanee scored three straight after that to close out the quarter leading 9-3.
- Junior David Arnold scored his second goal of the game to open the fourth quarter and cut it to 9-4, but once again the Tigers answered, this time scoring the final two goals of the game for a final of 11-4.
NOTABLE
- Arnold led with two goals, while four Panthers had an assist each.
- Sophomore Keenan Hudsmith led with three ground balls and was 10-of-15 on face-offs.
- Junior goalie Hank Harris played all 60 minutes and recorded 13 saves.
