Box Score ROME, Ga. - The Birmingham-Southern men's soccer team traveled to Rome, Ga., to take on the Berry College Vikings on Friday night but neither could pull out the win in what turned out to be a scoreless draw.
The Panthers and Vikings, despite taking 31 combined shots, could not find a goal in 90 minutes of regulation and 20 minutes of overtime. Berry outshot BSC 20 to 11. Sophomore forward Jackson Lynn (Homewood, Ala./Homewood HS) led the Panthers with four shots and two shots on goal.
Goalkeepers had much to do with the end result. BSC junior keeper Galen Curry (Birmingham, Ala./Spain Park HS) had a season-high 10 saves while Berry goalie Carson Oakes finished with seven saves.
The tie is Birmingham-Southern's second draw this season, with the first coming on a 1-1 result against Belhaven on Sept. 13. The Panthers move to 6-4-2 on the year.
Birmingham-Southern's next competition will be a road match at Oglethorpe on Sunday, Oct. 15. The match is scheduled to kickoff at 2:30 P.M. Eastern. The Panthers return home on Wednesday, Oct. 18 for Senior Day against Centre.
