Panthers Fall to Majors 2-0

JACKSON, Miss. – The Birmingham-Southern men's soccer team dropped its seventh match of the year on Saturday night, falling to the Millsaps Majors 2-0.

Millsaps opened up the scoring right before the half with a goal in the 43rd minute. The Majors scored the final of their two goals in the 80th minute to give them the final 2-0 lead.

Birmingham-Southern was outshot 14-4 and managed two shots on goal in the game.

Junior keeper Galen Curry (Birmingham, Ala./Spain Park HS) received the individual loss, but he recorded six saves over the 90 minutes of play.

The loss drops the Panthers to 6-7-2 overall on the season and 2-4-1 in Southern Athletic Association play. Birmingham-Southern's next match will be in the SAA Men's Soccer Championship Tournament quarterfinals on Saturday, Oct. 28. The bracket for the tournament is scheduled to be released by the conference at noon EST on Sunday, Oct. 22.
