Panthers Fall to Centre in SAA Quarterfinals

DANVILLE, Ky. – The Birmingham-Southern men's soccer team's season came to an end on Saturday afternoon after the Panthers fell to Centre 2-0 in the quarterfinal round of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament.

The Panthers surrendered a goal in each half of play. Centre picked up its first goal in the third minute and capped the scoring with a goal in the 66th minute.

BSC junior Brother Swagler (Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook HS) led the Panthers on offense with six shots and three shots on target. Birmingham-Southern finished with five shots on goal compared to Centre's eight.

Junior keeper Galen Curry (Birmingham, Ala./Spain Park HS) finished the match with five saves.

Birmingham-Southern ends the season with an overall record of 6-8-2 and 2-4-1 in the SAA.
